Mr. Florian and Mrs. Susan Pyrz of Downers Grove announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Pyrz, to Pete Serio, son of Mr. Steve and Mrs. Joanne Serio of Homer Glen, Ill.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Downers Grove South High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Carthage College in 2005. She is employed as a first-grade teacher in Markham, Ill.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of Lockport High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Carthage College in 2005. He is employed as a train master for CN Railroad.
The wedding is planned for August 2009 in Divine Savior Parish in Downers Grove. The couple will reside in Fond du Lac, Wis.
