Man resists arrest: police
A La Grange Park man faces numerous charges after he bailed out of his car then fled from police attempting to stop him for speeding Oct. 11.
Police said a car driven by Robert W. Lawler, 29, 1116 Cleveland Ave., was clocked at 44 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 700 block of La Grange Road just before 1 a.m.
Lawler then led police to the driveway of a home in the 700 block of Community Drive, where he parked his car then ran around the front of the home to the rear.
Lawler was then seen by another officer called in to assist in his search walking north on Monroe Avenue where he was ordered several time to lie on the ground. Police said Lawler first refused then knelt to the ground as he was approached by the officer. According to police, Lawler reached for the officer’s ankle holster and was shocked with a Tazer device.
Lawler was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest, not having proof of insurance and speeding.
