Brookfield, IL -

The Brookfield Police Department has received a $32,054 grant for traffic enforcement programs from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Through IDOT’s Integrated Mini-Grant Enforcement Project, or IMaGE, the grant provides funding for programs that focus on risky driving behaviors, such as driving under the influence, speeding and seat-belt violations. IMaGE also funds the salaries of officers who are working on hire back, whose sole duty is traffic enforcement. The village is also reimbursed through this grant for mileage logged on police cars during IMaGE activities.

This is the fourth consecutive year the police  department has been awarded the grant. The four grants have totaled over $122,000.
