The village of Addison celebrated the day the village was incorporated and the coming of the fall season Sunday with a parade through the heart of town along Lake Street and a festival.
Addison was incorporated Oct. 6, 1884; this is the second year the village held the parade to celebrate the occasion the Sunday before the date.
The 90-minute parade was sponsored by the village and the Medinah Shriners.
The celebration continued in Friendship Plaza with the Fall Festival, where highlights included a costume and pumpkin-decorating contest for children, hay rides through the historic area of the village, tours of the Addison Historical Museum and the Century House, music and food vendors.
