James Eckler and Dave Sampiller each homered Saturday as the Wildcats swept a doubleheader from visiting DuPage Valley Conference foe Glenbard East, 7-2 and 12-1.
The second game went only five innings.
In Game One, West Chicago (6-8, 4-6 DVC) scored three runs in the bottom of the first, all runs coming on Sampiller’s home run. Trevor Bodie fanned eight for the win. Ethan Burau tripled as the Wildcats scored four more runs in the bottom of the sixth, after the Rams had got within 3-2 in the top half.
In the second game, Sampiller and Barrett Serrato both doubled, Burau tripled again and Eckler had four RBI.
