Baseball
The Warriors had little trouble with Private School League foe Timothy Christian Saturday, routing the visiting Trojans 13-1 and 15-2 in five and six innings, respectively.

Sophomore John Lace, who ended the first game with a three-run home run, went a combined 7-for-8 that also included two doubles and seven RBI and got the win in Game One to improve to 3-1 on the season.

In Game Two, Wheaton Academy (8-6-1, 6-2 PSL) broke a 1-1 tie with Ben Souder’s two-run home run in the top of the second, scored once more in the third, three in the fifth and then poured on seven runs in the sixth.

Eric Albaugh had the biggest at-bat in that last inning, belting a grand slam down the first-base line.

Brett Boyer (1-0) was the winning pitcher, striking out five.

Softball
The Warriors had a frustrating day Saturday, dropping both ends of their doubleheader in West Chicago, 7-1 and 11-5, to Private School League rival Timothy Christian.

Catcher Olivia Tilly tied Game One when she tripled home fellow sophomore Julia Kolanowski with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning. But Timothy Christian (10-7, 8-0 PSL) scored again in the fifth and five more times in the sixth for the win.

Freshman Paige Huizenga took the Game One loss but pitched well enough for a win, striking out nine and allowing only five hits and three earned runs for Wheaton Academy (4-15-1, 3-6-1).

Girls soccer
The Warriors had little trouble with Private School League foe Illiana Christian last Thursday, scoring five times in the second half and cruising to the 8-0 victory.

Leah Fortune led the way with a hat trick while Alexa Sharkey added two goals and an assist.

Lindsey Burke (assist), Jenn Lee (two assists) and Christi Dithrich (assist) each scored a goal. Sisters Tatum and Hayley Teevans had one assist each.

Boys tennis
Despite missing their top player and despite not winning a single division, the Warriors took first place Saturday at the 20-team Lincoln-Way East Invitational.

Charles West and Devin Moore took runner-up honors at 1st doubles, while Danny Torres and Sam Morgan did the same at 2nd doubles. Jason Roy was third at 2nd singles. Senior Austin Hall missed because of illness and had to forfeit all of his 1st singles matches.
