Two men were charged after a fight ensued when an alleged drunken-driving crash occurred on Lake Street Thursday.

At about 2:40 a.m. Thursday Feb. 4, Bartlett Police responded to the intersection of Lake Street and North Bartlett Road to investigate a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. Police determined Christopher M. Suderski, 23, of 2222 Brent Court, Schaumburg, was driving a blue 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser east on Lake Street when he rear-ended a 2004 Hyundai sports utility vehicle that was stopped at the red light. Police said the Hyundai’s passenger, Brandon P.

Rodriguez, 21, of 1500 Spruce Ave., Hanover Park, approached Suderski and punched him several times in the face and chest before the drivers of two commercial vehicles came to his aid.

After an investigation, Rodriguez was charged with two class A misdemeanors for battery and resisting a peace officer, and Suderski was charged with a class A Misdemeanor for driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Suderski suffered injuries from the alleged battery and was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates by the Bartlett Fire Protection District.

Rodriguez and Suderski both were released on $1,000 recognizance bonds. They were assigned a court date of March 23 at the Cook County court facility in Rolling Meadows.
