Children, teens and adults may sign up for the Winfield Public Library’s summer reading program called “Get in the Game: Read.”
When visiting the library, check out some of the exciting programs. Mark your calendars and bring family and friends to one of the library’s most anticipated events of the year.
The library gave its summer season a sweet start with a free ice-cream social June 4. Sundaes and other refreshments were served, and a variety of games were played, with prizes awarded to the winners. Participants also could have their faces painted.
Gone Wi-Fi
Winfield Public Library offers a new service: Wi-Fi wireless Internet access. The Wireless Fidelity service is free to all users who have a compatible wireless device. Patrons, who may choose from a list of available networks and must accept the library’s Internet agreement, are responsible for setup and troubleshooting on their own computer.
The service is provided in response to requests from Winfield residents. The library invites patrons to visit and try the new service.
Market reopens
After a long winter, Winfield residents again are able to buy fresh produce at the farmers market. Participating are Tidey Farms, Stojans vegetables and Gnoske Orchards. It is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the Prairie Trail Center parking lot at Geneva and County Farm roads.
