Winfield Historical Society members will host their annual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at the Winfield Public Library.
At 7:30 p.m., a slide program on “Images of the Roaring Twenties and the New Woman” will take a step back in time to one of the most exciting periods in U.S. history, the 1920s. The decade is best remembered for scandalous fashions, revolutionary jazz music and amazing new freedom for the newly “liberated” women, known as “flappers,” whose rebellious attitude inspired risqué, flashy fashions, unorthodox behavior and a demand for equality.
