Thomas and Betty Bourgeois of Glen Ellyn announce the engagement of their son, Lucas Bourgeois, to Franziska Illig, daughter of Dieter and Elvira Illig of Elgin, Ill.
The bride-to-be earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Iowa in 2001. She is employed as a teacher with Chicago Public Schools.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of St. Francis High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Iowa in 2004. He is employed as an electrical engineer for Callpod Inc., in Chicago.
The wedding is planned for August 2008. The couple will reside in Chicago.
