An intimate look at politics and economic news will be shared by award-winning journalist John Callaway — along with a gourmet meal — at Niche restaurant, 14 S. Third St., Geneva.
“We are happy to introduce the first in a series of special events featuring commentary and guest interviews by the legendary Chicago broadcast journalist, John Callaway,” said Jody Richardson, sommelier at Niche.
She said the series “After Dinner with John Callaway” will debut Tuesday evening, May 13, featuring Callaway’s “State of the Union Address,” a penetrating and often bitingly humorous take on the 2008 presidential race, the faltering economy and political and economic developments in Chicago and the region.
Callaway is perhaps best known as the founding host of WTTW’s “Chicago Tonight” news interview and analysis program. He is the host and senior editor of two WTTW programs: “Friday Night” and the “Chicago Stories” historical series. His work has been honored with more than l00 awards, including 17 Emmys. He is a member of the Chicago Journalism Hall of Fame.
To start the evening, Chef Jeremy Lycan and Richardson have designed a three-course menu with a choice of entrée and dessert, paired with complementing wines. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. for $75.
