Elgin Theatre Company presents “Nunsense II: The Second Coming…,” written by Dan Goggin and directed by Kevin Wiczer. Capping the troupe’s 56th season,  the musical comedy is staged at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays from now through May 17 at Theatre 355, 355 E. Chicago St., Elgin.

The sequel begins six weeks after the sisters have staged their first benefit. They are back in Mount Saint Helen’s gymnasium, presenting a “thank-you” show for all the people who supported them in the past. Their brief brush with show business has ignited their inner star quality.

“It is not crucial for audience members to have seen ‘Nunsense I’ to understand this production,” Wiczer said. “Our topnotch cast will ensure the audience is with it from ‘curtain up’ to the final bow.”
