Twenty-five years ago Tuesday, Cubs manager Lee Elia launched a 3-minute tirade on Cubs fans and anything else he could think of after the Cubs lost a game to the Pirates on a Lee Smith wild pitch. The loss dropped his team to 5-14 before the ivy even came in at Wrigley.

Elia's 1983 rant contained 54 expletives, including 45 F-bombs (yes, we counted them all).

"For that one moment, somebody triggered something,” Elia told reporters on Monday. “I’d already built up all my frustrations prior to walking into that locker room. And it just came out. I don’t think the Hulk could’ve come in there and stopped me once I got rolling.”

Elia is now "celebrating" his tirade with a tour around Chicago and accompanying memorabilia that will benefit cancer research. Part of the proceeds will go to Chicago Baseball Cancer charities and the other part will go to Elia, a prostate cancer survivor.
