Boy, 16, injured after being struck by car

A 16-year-old La Grange boy was injured when he was struck by a car as he attempted to cross La Grange Road near 56th Street in Countryside at 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
Police said the boy was crossing from the west curb to the east when he was struck by a car driven by a Hickory Hills woman as she was driving south on La Grange Road. Several witnesses said the boy darted out in front of the car and that the woman was driving within the 35-mph speed limit.
He was taken to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital.
No tickets were issued, police said.
