The University of Illinois Extension has created a Web site with ideas on ways to prepare the Thanksgiving turkey.

The site, www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/turkey, features a broad array of information and tips to make the holiday meal a success.

U. of I. Extension food science and nutrition specialist Drusilla Banks created the site to offer suggestions on cooking techniques, selection, carving, side dishes, turkey facts, turkey safety, turkey farms, nutrition information and how to deal with leftovers.

One important feature for the harried cook is “Turkey FAQs,” which includes answers to many questions that can bedevil those caught in the midst of cooking a large meal.
