BATAVIA, IL -
• In honor of Batavia’s 175th anniversary, Bethany Lutheran Church will offer a heritage service at 9 a.m. Aug. 24, and will feature the Augustana service that was presented to the Lutheran Synod in Rock Island on April 23, 1925. The Heritage service will include beloved hymns that have enriched lives throughout the years. All are welcome to attend.
• St. Patrick’s Church in St. Charles has announced its annual Paddyfest Celebration. The festivities start after the 4 p.m. celebration of Mass Saturday, Aug. 23, on the grounds of the Crane Road Church. Dinner tickets will be sold at the door on a first-come, first-served basis, $10 per adult and $5 per child. All ticket proceeds will benefit the church building fund. The Paddyfest will continue from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24. There will be pony rides, face painting, raffles and a car show.
