Black Friday kicks off with sales

9:30 a.m. It was a quiet start to the Black Friday morning in downtown Hinsdale.
Jane’s Blue Iris on Washington Street, opened at its usual time of 8:30 a.m. Employee Lani Anderson said they did have some shoppers come in right after opening.
Several of the shops in downtown Hinsdale are offering sales Friday. Anderson said the flower shop and boutique was offering 20 percent off all Christmas merchandise. She was also preparing to set up a table of assorted items at 50 percent off.
Traffic, in general, was light around many downtowns.
