A 25-year-old Glen Ellyn man accused of inappropriately touching two minors on May 11 and May 12 at Target in St. Charles is facing additional charges for touching a third minor.

Nicholas E. Muniz, 24, 290 May Ave., Glen Ellyn, was charged with two counts of battery and two counts of disorderly conduct after he allegedly inappropriately touched a 16-year-old girl on Friday and touched a 14-year-old girl on Saturday.

A prayer vigil seeking justice for a Addison man who was shot after breaking into an off-duty police officer’s home will be held in front of DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin’s office this afternoon.

According to police reports, someone stole packaged meat valued at $923 from Chicago Prime Meat Market, 682 Roosevelt Road, sometime between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Friday.

Wheaton Police are searching for a suspicious person who’s been reported frequenting the areas of Wexford Circle and Creekside Drive. The most recent incident happened Wednesday and was reported Friday. The suspect pulled alongside a teen boy as the boy walked to a bus stop at Wexford Circle and Creekside Drive at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Police responded to Glen Ellyn Pharmacy at 486 Roosevelt Road around 10:30 this morning for an armed robbery.

According to police reports, a retail theft crew has been stealing large numbers of electronic items from Target stores in Wheaton, St. Charles and Naperville for the past month.

A 12-year-old boy from Oswego died from injuries suffered while playing a baseball game in Wheaton on Wednesday, according to media reports.

The driver of a vehicle that was part of an accident last month involving a train was arrested today, according to Wheaton Police officials. Edmund D. Mesch Jr., 53, North Cherry Street, Wheaton, was arrested  today and charged with criminal damage to property, reckless conduct and railroad obstruction act.

According to officials at the Glen Ellyn Police Department, evidence and witness statements indicate that a 56-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a westbound Metra commuter train Monday committed suicide.

A 56-year-old woman was struck by a westbound Metra commuter train just east of the Park Boulevard intersection at about 1:30 this afternoon. The women didn’t survive the accident. Her identity is being withheld at this time.

One person died early Sunday on Diehl Road in Warrenville after a vehicle struck an above-ground gas line.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on Diehl Road west of Winfield Road.  Warrenville police officers arrived to find a single vehicle off the road fully engulfed in flames. A preliminary investigation indicates the gas line ruptured after being hit by the vehicle.

A traffic accident that happened around 6 p.m. Monday in Winfield had a portion of Winfield Road, between Mack and Roosevelt roads, closed for about three hours.

There were injuries from the multiple vehicle accident, but none were fatal.

A helicopter is being dispatched to Roosevelt and Winfield roads in Winfield this evening after a reported crash at the intersection.
