St. Ignatius sectional
LOCATION
St. Ignatius, 1076 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago
CLASS 3A
SECTIONAL GAMES Tuesday, May 26; Wednesday, May 27; Friday, May 29
AREA TEAMS York, Proviso West, Hinsdale Central, Hinsdale South, Morton, Fenwick, Lyons Township
TOP SEEDS Hinsdale Central, St. Ignatius, Oak Park-River Forest, Lyons Township
REGIONAL KICKOFF Friday
OUTLOOK It is a feeling of familiarity for York this postseason. Three of the top four seeds are in the West Suburban Silver — the Dukes lost to Oak Park-River Forest and Lyons Township and beat Hinsdale Central — and York is the No. 5 seed.

The Lady Dukes open the playoffs against No. 11 Kelly at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the OPRF regional. With a win they would likely face No. 3 OPRF for the title at 4 p.m. Friday, May 22. The Huskies won the first meeting 1-0 on April 8.

However, since that loss the Lady Dukes have started to jell together to make a run over the last month. Following a 2-0 loss to Glenbard West on April 16, York won eight of nine heading into Thursday night’s regular-season finale.

On Tuesday, the Lady Dukes held off Downers Grove North 6-5 to improve to 11-5-2 overall and finish 3-3 in the West Suburban Silver.

Christian Ordonez found the net three times, twice off assists from Taylor Navarro and another assisted by Jasmine Watkins, while Ashley Bowman, Mary Kate Cicinelli (Danielle Vujovic assist) and Courtney McHugh (Ordonez assist) also scored.

The winner of the OPRF regional faces the winner of the St. Ignatius regional on Wednesday, May 27 in Chicago.

Rockford Christian Sectional
LOCATION
1401 N. Bell School Road, Rockford
CLASS 1A
SECTIONAL GAMES Friday, May 22; Tuesday, May 26
AREA TEAMS Immaculate Conception, Timothy Christian, Westmont
TOP SEEDS Immaculate Conception, Rockford Christian, Rockford Lutheran, Willows Academy
REGIONAL KICKOFF May 13
OUTLOOK Immaculate Conception is looking to make a return trip to the Class 1A state tournament.

The Lady Knights are the No. 1 seed at the Timothy Christian regional and will open up postseason action on May 15 with a contest against either Driscoll or Westmont.

IC is currently 9-4-2 on the spring with a 4-3 mark in the Suburban Catholic Conference. Natalie D’Agostino leads the way with 17 goals and 11 assists while Danielle Remy has tallied 13 goals and nine assists. Rocky Salinas checks in with nine goals and a team-high 14 assists with Catherine Guido adding six goals and four assists.

Kelly Mulligan has made 175 saves on the season and has five shutouts.

Timothy Christian, which is 8-9-2 on the spring, grabbed the No. 3 seed at its own regional. The Trojans will play No. 2 seed Lisle on Friday with a berth in the Tuesday regional championship game at stake.

Four-year varsity player Katie Dirkse leads the team with 17 goals and 12 assists while freshman Michelle Ditchfield has scored 10 goals.

Bolingbrook sectional
LOCATION
Bolingbrook High School, 365 Raider Way
CLASS 3A
SECTIONAL GAMES Tuesday, May 26; Friday, May 29
AREA TEAMS Glenbard East, Downers Grove North, Downers Grove South, Wheaton Warrenville South, Willowbrook
TOP SEEDS Neuqua Valley, Naperville North, Naperville Central, Waubonsie Valley
REGIONAL KICKOFF Friday
OUTLOOK Glenbard East (5-12-1) has more than one thing in its favor.

First, the 14th-seeded Rams host the regional, which begins with their Class 3A opener at 5 p.m. Friday against No. 18 seed Romeoville (though the game is at Romeoville because Glenbard East is also hosting the DuPage Valley Conference boys track meet the same night).

Second, they’ve played much better soccer the second half of the season, which began with just two goals total in a 1-5-1 start.

Third, they get their scoring from several places. Seven players have scored goals for the team, five tallying multiple goals. Fourth, junior Nikki Hall has progressed faster than expected as the starting goalkeeper.

And lastly, freshmen lead the team in both goals (Lindsey Paganucci) and assists (Erin Mrazek).
Unfortunately, all of that may not get the Rams more than one postseason win, which would be their first since 2004. If they defeat Romeoville, they would then have to upset No. 2 seed Naperville North (which beat Glenbard East 5-0 on April 7) just to make the regional final, which the program has not done since 1999.

Willowbrook is the No. 17 seed and plays at No. 16 seed Bolingbrook Friday. The winner gets top-seeded Neuqua Valley at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Plainfield North regional.

Wheaton Academy sectional
LOCATION
Wheaton Academy, 900 Prince Crossing Road, West Chicago
CLASS 2A
SECTIONAL GAMES Tuesday, May 26; Wednesday, May 27; Friday, May 29
AREA TEAMS Montini, Glenbard South, St. Francis, Wheaton Academy, Riverside Brookfield, Nazareth, St. Joseph
TOP SEEDS Wheaton Academy, St. Francis, Nazareth, Riverside Brookfield
REGIONAL KICKOFF Monday
OUTLOOK Montini is the No. 12 seed in the sectional and will compete in the Riverside Brookfield regional. The Lady Broncos, who are 2-7-1 on the spring, open up playoff action on Monday with a contest against No. 5 Payton. The winner of that matchup moves into the regional championship match against either Riverside Brookfield or Wells.
