The Lombard Police Department has announced it will be conducting patrols throughout the Labor Day weekend to crack down on drunken drivers and will conduct a roadside safety checkpoint Friday, Sept. 5.
A Kane County jury convicted Shurron J. Clark, 19, of Lombard of aggravated battery to a teacher and set his bail at $50,000 Thursday after Clark bumped a male teacher in the chest at a trade school in Aurora.
Not only did Lombard police issue 730 tickets to those not wearing seat belts during the two weeks of seat belt enforcement checkpoints, they said they potentially prevented other crimes from being committed.
