The death of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a freight train in Lombard Wednesday night is not being investigated as an accident, police said Thursday morning.

South Main Street in Lombard was closed for nearly two hours Wednesday morning after a gas line was struck during construction work, the Lombard Fire Department said.

Applications are being accepted for the Fire commissioner position with the Addison Fire Protection District from now until June 30.
