• Children at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove can expect bags filled with toys and activities thanks to a local Eagle Scout. Glen Ellyn native Austin Johanneson delivered more than 400 bags sorted and packaged to age and gender specifications to the Women’s and Children’s Services unit this month. Thanks to his donors, he was able to provide iPods and electronic handheld games, such as Nintendo DS. The new bags will not only be used in pediatric units, but hospitalwide such as in the Emergency Department.

• “Digital Camera Movies and Slides for TV Viewing,” will be the topic at Central DuPage Camera Club at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10.
