Villa Park, IL -

Police and the Chicago unit of the FBI are looking for a man who robbed a Villa Park bank Wednesday morning.

According to FBI spokeswoman Cynthia Yates, a man walked into Inland Bank, 305 W. St. Charles Road, at about 10 a.m. Wednesday morning and passed a note to a bank teller claiming he had a gun and that he was robbing the bank. Yates said a gun was never seen by witnesses; and video inside the bank was of poor quality and showed nothing.

The man fled on foot with an unknown amount of money. Ross Rice, FBI special agent and spokesman for the Chicago office, said the bank is conducting an audit to see how much cash was taken.

Yates said FBI agents are looking for a white man in his mid-20s with a thin to medium build. He left the bank wearing a white cap and a white long sleeve shirt.

The bank was reopened for business by 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Inland Bank Senior Vice President Robin Slas confirmed there was a robbery at the bank, but declined to comment on ongoing investigations.

"The bank is open and everything is fine," Slas said.

The Villa Park Police Department was not available for comment.
