Villa Park, IL -

Another week, and the kids will be home for spring break. Here are some options to keep them busy for the week.

The Villa Park Library has a full week of events planned starting Monday, March 24, with its Monday Matinee, which will be shown at 1 p.m. The title is to be announced.
Stop in from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, for bingo. All ages are welcome to play for great prizes.

“Native American Life on the Plains” will be presented at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26. You will travel back in time and experience Native American culture firsthand with Jon Jordan. He will share artifacts and stories demonstrating important values, such as respect, tradition and generosity. He will also talk about the important role of buffalo in native life.

Dance Dance Revolution will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27. Get on the dance pad, follow the arrows and step and jump with the rhythm. You can come and learn or show off your technique. There will be refreshments and other games for those who don’t dance.

Kids of all ages are invited to come to “Sing and Clap Along” at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28. Allan Lieberman sings songs for the children and the young at heart. His concerts are entertaining, interactive and fun.

For more information on any of these programs, call the library at (630) 834-1176.
Both the Villa Park and Oakbrook Terrace Park Districts have great camps for spring break.

Spring Camp in Villa Park runs Monday, March 24 through Friday, March 28 and will be held at the Iowa Community Center, 338 N. Iowa. It is offered for kids ages 5 to 12, who will go on two great field trips and be entertained with crafts, games, sports and more.

Kids can arrive anytime between 7:30 and 10 a.m. and may be picked up between 3:30 and 6 p.m. Be sure to send a sack lunch each day. Snacks and drinks will be provided. You can sign you child up for all five days or as many as you like. The cost is $29 per day.

The field trips are to the Pavilion Aquatics Center in Elk Grove Village and the PGN Fun arcade in Hickory Hills.

The Spring Break Camp offered by Oakbrook Terrace will include crafts, games, a movie, a field trip and plenty of time to socialize with friends. An activity schedule will be given out when the program begins. The camp will be held from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., March 24 to 28. Early and late care is available. The program is designed for children grades K through eighth and will be held at the Heritage Center, 1S325 Ardmore Ave.

The fee is $85 for the full week for residents, $90 for non-residents. Call (630) 627-6100 for more information.
