A Lansing resident filed suit Thursday, Nov. 12, against Indian Lakes Resort after her now disabled husband fell off a golf cart driven by an employee.
On Aug. 20, Todd R. Bergfors was a guest at the Bloomingdale resort while attending a golf outing. Employees of the resort allegedly gave Bergfors a ride in a club golf cart, which had two seats in the front and an area in the back for holding golf clubs, according to the lawsuit filed in Cook County Thursday.
Todd Bergfors allegedly was forced to stand on the area designated to hold golf clubs and because of the driver’s negligence, he fell off and suffered permanent injuries, the lawsuit said.
On Oct. 16, he was determined disabled and his wife, Sherri L. Bergfors was appointed guardian of him and his estate.
Sherri Bergfors is suing for an amount in excess of $50,000.
