A group of Chinese delegates observed and toured Berwyn's city government and health care facilities last week in hopes of learning how to provide better services back in their hometown of Beijing.
The group, including a mix of businessmen, economic development specialists and doctors toured MacNeal Hospital and City Hall, led by Berwyn Development Corporation President Paul Zimmermann.
“The delegation was genuinely interested in how Berwyn functions on a daily basis, how the city fosters business development and the relationship between large employers like MacNeal and city government,” Zimmermann said.
The delegation was sponsored by the 21st Century Institute, a Chicago-based nonprofit aimed at improving cultural, economic and technological resources throughout the world.
