Western suburbs, IL -

The second annual Kiwanis Club of Central DuPage County Golf Outing will be held at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Klein Creek Golf Club in Winfield.

Proceeds will fund future donations to local organizations helping a variety of community services. Since 1990, the club’s charter year, these contributions have totaled over $225,000 to more than 100 organizations. That's in addition to many man hours of volunteer time donated to the community.

Local businesses and individuals are sponsoring holes and prizes for participants to help raise funds for the event. Chris Novak of Professional Nerds is the major sponsor this year. The Hole-in-One sponsor is Crossroads Chevrolet of West Chicago. Golfers will get 18 holes of golf, a locker, bag and shoe services, a cart, a sleeve of event golf balls, several prize-shot holes, a hole-in-one contest involving three holes and shots at prizes. The swag includes a 2008 Chevy Malibu, a set of Taylor Made Burner wedges, a set of Taylor Made woods and driver and a five-day/four-night Fairmont Golf Resort vacation. In addition to these items is the lunch provided by Klein Creek with an opportunity to win many prizes contributed by local businesses.
