Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital has been re-desigated as a Level II trauma center by the Illinois Department of Public Health, according to hospital sources.
The designation guarantees that the hospital has adequate resources to deal with severely injured trauma patients at all times. In 2007, the hospital recorded more than 400 trauma visits.
Two IDPH surveyors visited Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital in April to inspect the trauma service and facility, including the CT scanners and other equipment, review charts to verify appropriate care is given and question nurses and other medical team members on proper protocols and care of the trauma patient.
Re-designation typically takes place every two years.
