Summer tends to be short in Chicagoland, so now’s the time to make the most of the warm weather and enjoy an evening or weekend outdoors on a patio. For those looking for a place to sip a cocktail or savor a meal away from home, here are five spots in St.Charles offering outdoor dining.
This list is not all-inclusive, so if you don’t see your favorite spot, join the discussion and tell us about your top outdoor dining area.

1 If you’re looking for Northern Italian cuisine with a selection of wine to accompany your meal, ZaZa’s Trattoria is the place to go. Located at 5 S. First St., the restaurant provides outdoor seating beside the Fox River from Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting.  Za Za’s is open for lunch Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner hours are Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and Sunday 4 to 9 p.m. For reservations, a look at the menu or more information, call (630) 443-9304 or visit www.zazasitaliansteakhouse.com.

2 To enjoy American cuisine of seafood and steaks, visit Bistro One West located at 1 W. Illinois St. The bistro provides first, come first-served outdoor dining where customers can experience an evening on the patio enjoying homemade pasta and steaks with a glass of wine. 3 For a casual evening out, visit Pub 222, located at 222 W. Main St. A family-owned restaurant, Pub 222 provides an array of typical American cuisine with an Irish twist, serving dishes that range from burgers to homemade shepherd’s pie.  The Pub’s 20-table seating area has its own, private entrance on Third Street.  The Pub is open Monday through Wednesday, 11 to 1 a.m.; Thursday through Saturday, 11 to 2 a.m. and Sunday, 11 to 1 a.m.  For more information, call (630) 584-4222.
