Little has stood in the way of St. Charles East's girls golf team this season.
Things didn't change much Tuesday afternoon.
With four counting scores that dipped into the 80s (three were in the low 80s) the Saints earned the Class AA Guilford sectional title comfortably, amassing 330 points to Galesburg's 349 at Ingersoll Golf Course in Rockford. St. Charles North finished fourth with a score of 356.
Jenny Niemiec and Nicole Rae both carded 81s for the Saints, followed closely by Kate VenHorst's 82. Kathryn Belanger's 86 rounded out East's scoring contingent.
Rebecca Norris fired a 92 and Paige Jordan a 96 for East.
St. Charles North may not have earned a team berth to this weekend's state tournament at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, but Marin Beagley will represent the North Stars thank to her sparkling score of 77 at Ingersoll.
Her score placed her third overall among advancing individuals, four strokes back of sectional champion Abbie Horan of Lakes.
