Jordan Scalice pitched a shutout in the final and Tim Noverini had a technical fall in the championship match as the St. Charles North duo won titles at the Class 3A South Elgin wrestling regional tournament.

The pair will move on to this weekend's Glenbard North sectional, as will North's Wes Pasholk, who won his third place match at 220 pounds. The top-4 sectional finishers at each weight class will move on to the state finals.

Scalice was dominant in his run to the title at 120. He won his first match with a fall early in the second period, then had a 10-1 major decision in the semifinals before earning a 5-0 win in the championship.

Noverini was just as dominant at 152. He had a bye into the semifinals, where he won with a first-period pin. He then scored a technical fall (win by 15 points or more) early in the third period of the championship match.

After falling in the 220 semis, Pasholk had a 4-0 win in the backdraw semis to get to the third place match, where he won 10-4 to secure the sectional berth.

As a team, North finished seventh with 67.5 points. South Elgin (167) edged Conant (162.5) for the title.
