St. Charles, IL -

Man charged with felony DUI

David G. Julseth, 35, of St. Charles was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured vehicle, no valid registration and registration suspended for no insurance at about 8 p.m. May 21 after a traffic stop on the 2000 block of West Main Street.

CDs take from vehicle recovered

Police located two CD cases and several CDs on the 1400 block of Rita Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. May 31 that reportedly were stolen from an unlocked car on the 1300 block of Rita Avenue between 10 p.m. May 30 and 6:30 a.m. May 31. The items were found by officers investigating other burglaries from vehicles.

Burglaries from vehicles reported

- A GPS unit and an MP3 player, worth a total of about $450, were reported stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 4 from a vehicle parked on the 4100 block of Royal Troon Court while the owner was inside a home shampooing a carpet.

- A leaf blower worth about $400 was reported stolen from an unlocked trailer in the parking lot of the Blue Goose market, 300 S. Second St., between 10 and 11:30 a.m. June 4.

- A car stereo worth about $150 was reported stolen from a car on the 1700 block of Walnut Street between 12:30 and 8:15 a.m. June 5.

- A tool box and tools worth about $1,200 were reported stolen from outside a van at Sears, 3800 E. Main St., between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. June 4.

- A purse worth about $100, a GPS unit worth about $400 and a wallet were reported stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot of the St. Charles East Side Sports Complex, 3565 Legacy Blvd., between 5:45 and 7:45 p.m. June 5. The passenger window of the vehicle was smashed, according to police reports.

Retail thefts reported

- An unidentified man stole eight CDs at about 3 p.m. June 4 from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, but left without being caught by store security. Police provided a description of the subject to Kiss the Sky record store in Geneva, which buys used CDs. The store owner told police a man fitting the description came to the store at about 4:15 p.m., but left after the owner told him he couldn’t buy CDs from him.

- Melissa A. Lorusso, 21, of Wayne was charged with felony retail theft at about 5 p.m. June 6 for allegedly stealing a purse and perfume worth a total of about $460 from Von Maur, 3810 E. Main St.

- Elizabeth M. Davila, 17, of North Aurora was charged with felony retail theft at about 6:30 p.m. June 7 for allegedly stealing clothing and jewelry worth a total of about $160 from Kohl’s, 3840 E. Main St.

Park fence damaged

An unknown offender drove through two sections of a wooden fence at Timber Trails Park, 800 N. 17th St., between noon and 11 p.m. June 5. The vehicle drove through the fence into a grassy area near a bike path, circled around and drove back through another section of the fence, causing about $500 worth of damage, according to police reports.
