ST. CHARLES

Underage drinking charged
Mathew W. Jones, 18, 1225 Iroquois Drive, Batavia, was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol at St. Charles East High School, 1020 Dunham Road, at 11:02 a.m. Nov. 20 after allegedly coming to school drunk. Police said Jones has had previous problems similar to this incident and the school knows about his struggles with alcohol. A hearing will be held by District 303 on his possible expulsion. He will have a Dec. 10 court date with Kane County.

Possession charges filed
Robert Lee White, 21, 3700 block of Central Park Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession and delivery of marijuana at 3:52 p.m. Nov. 20 after allegedly selling a bag of marijuana to someone on the 2000 block of Wessel Court. He paid $100 bond and has a Dec. 10 court date.

Retail theft charges filed

  • Joseph Lee Jang, 30, 3018 Langston Circle, was charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing about $9 worth of food from Blue Goose Market, 300 S. Second St. at 7:37 p.m. Nov. 20. Jang paid $100 bond and was given a Dec. 17 court date.
  • Ernest Nance, 55, of the 8000 block of South Western Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft after allegedly taking items valued at $550.83 from Dominick’s Finer Foods Inc., 2063 Lincoln Highway, at 1 p.m. Nov. 21. Nance allegedly stole items such as Rogaine, Crest Whitestrips and razors. His bond was set at $50,000 since he was on parole through the Illinois Department of Corrections, police said. He will have a Dec. 10 court date.
  • Mariana Flores-Montoya, 26, 1213 Kings Court, Apt. 28, West Chicago, was charged with retail theft after allegedly being caught on a surveillance tape stealing items totaling $278.99. She also had a warrant for her arrest on failure to appear for traffic offenses, police said. She was taken to Kane County Jail on $4,000 bond and given a Dec. 10 court date.


Drunken driving charged
Patrick Michael Carroll, 41, of Lake Geneva, Wis. was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 or more and unsafe lane change at 11:39 p.m. Nov. 20 at South Randall Road and Oak Street, police said. Carroll had a 0.199 blood-alcohol level according to police. He gave his driver’s license and $100 for bond and was given a Dec. 16 court date.

Cocaine possession
Thomas Andrew Batchelor, 25, 515 Horizon Drive, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant. Batchelor was found by police at Fairfield Inn, 2096 Bircher Road, at 4:39 a.m. Nov. 21 after a noise complaint was called in by the hotel. Police allegedly found cocaine on Batchelor and a warrant for driving while his driver’s license was suspended. He was taken to the Kane County Judicial Center on $5,000 bond and given a Dec. 8 court date.

Theft under $300
At 1:45 p.m. Nov. 18 at St. Charles East High School, 1020 Dunham Road, a wallet with $5, gift cards and other IDs was reported stolen from a gym locker.

Vehicle burglaries

  • At 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Real Time Sports parking lot, 584 S. Randall Road, the passenger window of a car was busted out and a 30-gigabyte black iPod was stolen.
  • Between 11 p.m. Nov. 22 and 1:21 a.m. Nov. 23 at 620 Stetson Ave., three vehicles were broken into. One car’s driver’s side window was broken out, one car’s passenger window was broken out and the third car had been left unlocked. One car was missing a cell phone, one was missing an MP3 player and one was missing a Social Security card, passport, driver’s license and car radio.
  • At 12:30 a.m. Nov. 23 at Wise Plastics, 3810 Stern Ave., a window was smashed out of a car. No word from the owner what was missing from the car, but the suspects were caught on tape by a Wise Plastics security camera.
  • Between midnight Nov. 22 and 3:26 a.m. Nov. 23 at 3945 Swenson Ave., a driver’s side window was smashed out of a truck.
  • Between midnight Nov. 22 and 4:19 a.m. Nov. 23 at Chicago Mold Engineerings Co. Inc., 615 Stetson Ave., the driver’s side window of a vehicle was smashed out. A DVD player and remote combo and a Sirius Satellite radio were stolen.
  • Between 5 p.m. Nov. 22 and 6:37 a.m. Nov. 23 at Aquascape, 901 Aqualand Way, two trucks were reported burglarized. A $2,000 level transit was stolen from one truck’s trailer. A VCR was removed from a second vehicle. The VCR was recovered from Aquascape’s property and entered into evidence.


Criminal damage to property
Between 5 p.m. Nov. 20 and 10 a.m. Nov. 23 at 453 Dunham Road, two panels of a fence were reported missing. The owner said it would cost about $100 to repair.
