ST. CHARLES


Driving under the influence

  • Eduardo Precoma, 41, 1714 Wessel Court, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane use on the 1700 block of West Main Street at 1:47 a.m. Oct. 25, police said. Precoma refused to give a breath test, according to reports. He was given a court date and released.
  • Kevin Francis Cestone, 38, 39W847 Robert Frost Lane, was charged with driving under the influence, blood-alcohol content 0.08 or more and driving on the shoulder of the road at 11:38 p.m. Oct. 30 on the 100 block of Kirk Road, police said. His blood-alcohol content was 0.095, according to reports. He was given a Dec. 2 court date and posted $100 and his license for bond.
  • Matthew David Bright, 21, 1866 Chandler Ave., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, 0.08 or more blood-alcohol content and disobeying a street sign at 11:18 p.m. Nov. 4 at 99 S. Second St., according to reports. As he was leaving, Bright called the arresting officer a homosexual slur, police said.


Barking dog citation
Todd B. Cassens, 43, was given a nuisance violation for a barking dog at 10:26 p.m. Oct. 28 on the 1500 block of Jewel Avenue after a neighbor complained the dogs were constantly in the backyard barking, according to reports. He was given an appearance date of Nov. 19.

Aggravated battery
A women was found semi-conscious and covered in blood at 1:48 a.m. Oct. 30 at 150 N. 15th St., police said. She refused to say what happened to her. She was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital for treatment.

Graffiti reported

  • A home on the 300 block of State Street was spray-painted between 12 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Oct. 30.
  • Between 11 a.m. Oct. 26 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 29 at Renaux Manor Park, 3355 Voltaire Lane, $200 in damage was done by graffiti. Police noted graffiti seemed to pop up in other places across St. Charles.
  • At 2:41 p.m. Oct. 28 at Beehive Tavern and Grill, 204 W. Main St., someone noticed graffiti on the roof.


Retail theft charged

  • Stephanie Dawn Willis, 41, 116 Woodlawn St., was charged with felony retail theft after allegedly stealing $284 worth of goods from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, at 5:20 p.m. Oct. 30. Among the items taken were four bottles of wine, an electrical outlet strip, light bulbs, children’s clothing and an exercise mat.
  • Sweaters and tops worth about $100 in were stolen from Von Maur, 3810 E. Main St., at 1:20 p.m. Oct. 28. Security video shows two girls in Wheaton Academy sweaters taking the items. The girls have not been found.


Property damaged

  • A wooden lattice was reported broken between 5 p.m. Oct. 29 and 5 p.m. Oct. 30 on the 300 block of Illinois Street. The lattice is worth $25.
  • Between 5 p.m. Oct. 30 and 8 a.m. Nov. 2 at D&B Power Associates, a section of vinyl fence was kicked out. The owner said it will cost $300 to fix.
  • Lourdes Marie Herrera, 21, 933 Bishop St., West Chicago, was charged with criminal damage to property after allegedly breaking out a window at someone’s apartment on the 1600 block of Indiana Street, police said. The owner said it would cost $250 to replace. Herrera will have court Dec. 17.


Damage, retail theft charges
Carney Devon Wiggins, 36, 1341 Monomoy Road, Apt. D., Aurora, was charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing $87 worth of body wash from Dominick’s, 2063 Lincoln Highway at 12:02 p.m. Oct. 31, police said. He allegedly damaged the doors when they were forced open as he was running out.

BMX bicycle stolen
A Next Chaos BMX bicycle was reported stolen from the 1400 block of Indiana Street at 3:35 p.m. Oct. 27.

Purses reported stolen

  • A women said her purse, which contained $800, was stolen when she went to go retrieve her Link card from her car at 3:25 p.m. Oct. 29 at Jewel, 2073 Prairie St.
  • At 7:17 p.m. Oct. 27 at Wal-Mart, 150 Smith Road, a purse and money were reported stolen at a value of $127 total.


Forgery alleged
Between 9 a.m. Oct. 26 and 9 a.m. Oct. 29, a woman reported she was bilked out of more than $3,600 by a Craigslist scammer, police said. The victim tried to sell a dress on the Web site and received a check that later was found to be fake at Harris Bank, 3890 E. Main St. Police are still investigating and have not yet found the offenders.

Possession charged
Kelly R. Kunde, 18, 1037 S. Fourth St., was charged with letting an unauthorized driver use her vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Michael Anthony Vorkapic, 17, 218 Anderson Blvd., Geneva, was charged with no valid driver’s license. Vorkapic was found driving Kunde’s car, police said. The car contained a small pipe, which was believed to be used for smoking marijuana, according to reports.
