St. Charles police are investigating damage to a sculpture displayed at Mount St. Mary’s Park. The four-foot tall stainless steel sculpture, called “Flourish,” is a design of birds connected at the wings.
On Sept. 30, police found the top portion of the sculpture bent at a 90 degree angle and some of the welding broken.
According to a police report, the incident occurred between 7 p.m. Sept. 29 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 30.
Police are offering a $600 reward for anyone with knowledge leading to an arrest. The sculpture is valued at $8,000 and the cost to repair the sculpture is not known.
St. Charles police are still offering $1,000 for information about a sculpture that was stolen on May 16, called the “Winged Crawler.”
The sculptures were on display as part of the Sculpture in the Park exhibit, which is scheduled to be exhibited at the park through Oct. 12.
