Church holds video poker meeting

Baker Memorial United Methodist Church will hold a meeting on the merits of video poker machines in bars, restaurants and fraternal organizations as part of a financing plan for an Illinois public works program.

The meeting will take place from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. on Monday at the church, 307 Cedar Ave.

Tom Grey from the Stop Predatory Gambling group and representatives from the Illinois Coin Machine Operations Association will each make their case for the two opposing sides.

Elected officials from St. Charles, Batavia and Geneva have been invited to participate in this issue.
