Geneva, IL -

Organizers are calling it the Localvore Challenge, a chance to find locally grown ingredients through the Geneva Green Market’s Thanksgiving Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, noting that local artisans also will sell beautifully crafted and socially responsible Christmas and hostess gifts. Localvore Brunch will be served with the farmers’ products from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Among the homemade items offered for sale will be Betsy Sanchez’s walnut cranberry Linzer tarts, pumpkin pecan tarts, pumpkin cake roll, Swedish cardamom rolls (bullar), Swedish cardamom braids (pulla), butter braids and biscotti.

The event is at Inglenook Pantry, 11 N. Fifth St., Geneva (where the Green Market will continue into the winter months from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays).

For reservations, call (630) 377-0373.
