Two Batavia men were charged with aggravated battery Thursday after they allegedly beat two victims in a St. Charles restaurant.
Police arrested Gerardo Cervantes-Quintero, 26, and Pedro Alonso-Villagomez, 29, both of the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle, Batavia, for striking two male victims with a baseball bat and beer bottle, respectively.
Thursday night patrol officers observed Cervantes-Quintero and Alonso-Villagomez running from Ray’s Evergreen Grill while being chased by a woman.
The woman told police the pair had entered Ray’s Evergreen Grille, 1400 W. Main Street in St. Charles and struck two patrons in the restaurant.
After investigation, police learned that Cervantes-Quintero , armed with a baseball bat, struck a male victim on the back while the victim was sitting at a table. Alonso-Villagomez hit another male victim with a beer bottle. According to police, Cervantes-Quintero and Alonso-Villagomez knew the victims.
One victim suffered back injury and the other had lacerations in his forehead and nose. Both were treated and transported to Delnor Community Hospital.
Bond was set at $35,000 for Alonso Villagomez, while Cervantes-Quintero had five outstanding warrants including; DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a driver’s license. Cervantes-Quinteros bond was set at $50,000.
