St. Charles East High School will host its third annual Post-Secondary Transition Planning Night for students with disabilities and their families from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Students and families from the St. Charles School District, Batavia, Geneva, Kaneland, Burlington, West Chicago, U-46 and the Mid-Valley Cooperative are welcome to attend. Families can receive first-hand information from in-state and out-of-state colleges, vocational schools, adult agencies, day and residential programs, recreation and transportation service providers. Key note speakers will be presenting on topics for college-bound and non-college bound students.
This year’s program features speakers from Northern Illinois University regarding self-advocacy and successful transition tips, and speakers from the Social Security Administration and the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services to discuss Work Incentives Programs.
