Peace, justice and the environment seminar Sponsored by the Adult Faith Development Council of Countryside Church, Progressive Fest Illinois and the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist, 1025 Smith St., Palatine. Pet Adoption Fair 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, Charlestowne Mall, lower level, Kirk Road and North Ave., St. Charles. Anderson Animal Shelter will have pets available for adoption. Picture People will be available to take pictures of owners and their pets, with all proceeds benefiting Anderson Animal Shelter.

Volunteer Fair Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Batavia, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. Forty volunteer and charitable organizations that serve the Fox Valley area will provide information and answer questions about their group. Refreshments and door prizes.
