In celebration of Chamber of Commerce Week in September, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry will sponsor a month of networking and special events.
Governor J.B. Pritzker will proclaim September 9-13 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Illinois and Mayor Steve Morley will proclaim September 9-36 as Chamber Week in Elmhurst.
This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, the state’s leading business organization, of which our Chamber is an active member. Chamber of commerce have contributed to the civic and economic life of Illinois for 181 years, since the Galena Chamber of Commerce’s 1838 founding.
Established more than century ago in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of “promoting an environment that creates success for local businesses and our community.”
Membership benefits include services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
“With some 600 members, our Chamber is the largest organization representing business interests, and promoting commerce and industry in Elmhurst,” said John R. Quigley, ECCI President and CEO since 1999, the longest tenured chamber executive serving in DuPage County.
Our monthly networking events include a “Pool Party” Business After Hours (September 5) hosted by Fitness Formula Club to showcase club member amenities such as the rooftop lounge with outdoor pool and the Membership Breakfast (September 11) hosted by Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 in celebration of the Post 187’s 100th Anniversary in 2019.
“Networking on the 9s,” our Chamber’s 71st Annual Golf Outing (September 18), will be played at Sugar Creek Golf Course in Villa Park, with participation by the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce.
