As part of an ongoing commitment to provide excellence in education, St. Joseph School in Downers Grove is expanding its current preschool program to include a full-day option for 4-year-old students. Summertime renovations to the school will provide extra amenities and safety features to students and staff.
Additional classrooms and restrooms will be added to the existing school, allowing the Parish Preschool to relocate from the Church building. This will free up vital space for other Parish ministries, and will offer room for a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Lab and other special school programming. Elevators and ramps will be added to provide handicap accessibility throughout the school, and will connect all levels of the school building. This will provide more gathering space for Parish events, along with access to a full kitchen.
“We believe these renovations will take our school into the future, and give us more space to do really exciting things,” said Rita Stasi, Principal of St. Joseph School.
St. Joseph School is proud to offer a new full-day preschool for 4-year-olds, beginning August of 2018. Current options for half-day preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds will remain. The new full-day program offers an extension to each student’s academic preschool day with enrichment in literacy, language arts, motor development, social skills, music, STEM, and art activities. Full-day students are also offered additional before- and after-school care.
“We’re currently enrolling a limited number of preschool students to start the full-day 4-year-old pre-K program,” said Stasi. “This expansion will connect our youngest students to the rest of our students in a more meaningful way.” For more information, please contact:
