A 15-year-old girl was charged with theft after stealing candy and potato chips from the concession stand at the Bartlett Aquatic Center, 620 W. Stearns Road, over the weekend, police say.
Officers were called to the aquatic center around 8:15 a.m. Saturday, the Bartlett Police Department says, and the girl was charged with a class A misdemeanor offense of criminal damage to property and a class A misdemeanor offense of theft.
The girl threw a large decorative rock through the countertop window to gain access to the concession stand, according to reports.
Police found the girl and took her into custody after she fled the scene on foot.
The girl was later released to her mother after she was petitioned to DuPage County Juvenile Court.
