DUI charges filed against three suspects

Bolingbrook police charged three motorists with driving while under the influence of alcohol in separate incidents between Dec. 1 and Dec. 6, according to police reports.

Shanya Cruz, 17,  of Westmont, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, and improper lane usage following a traffic stop at about 12:15 a.m. Dec. 6 in the 100 block of West Briarcliff Road, police said.

Donald Mallory, 28, 513 King Arthur Way, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana and failure to yield upon exiting a private driveway after being involved in an accident that police say occurred at about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1 near the intersection of Boughton and Schmidt roads.

Israel Sanchez, 29, 340 Forest Court, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, battery, reckless driving, failure to provide aid or information following an accident and driving without insurance after police received a report at about 2 a.m. Dec. 1 of a man causing a disturbance.

Battery charges for Villa Park man

Eishia  House, 19,  of Villa Park, was charged with domestic battery and aggravated assault after Bolingbrook police were called to 3 N. Fernwood Drive at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 for reports of a domestic situation, according to police reports.

Battery, retail theft charges filed

Jimmy Lyles, 49, 332 Thistle Drive, was charged with battery and retail theft after police were called to Meijer, 225 N. Weber Road, at about 5:45 p.m. Dec. 1 for reports of a shoplifter being held by store security for retail theft.

Six thefts from businesses reported

Bolingbrook police said six thefts to businesses were reported between Nov. 26 and Dec. 4, totaling more than $16,000 in losses.

On Oct. 4 a theft from a business in the 400 block of Crossroads Parkway some time after 2 a.m. resulted in the loss of two computer notebooks valued at more than $2,400, police said.

A home theater system valued at more than $2,500 was reported taken from a business in the 300 block of North Weber Road after 1:45 p.m. Dec. 2, police said.
More than $1,000 in cash was reported taken from a business in the 100 block of East South Frontage Road after Oct. 27, according to police.

Two compactors and a level, items valued at more than $5,000, were reported taken from a construction site in the 100 block of West Crossroads Parkway after 3:30 p.m. Nov. 30, police said.

Jewelry, chips and pipes valued at more than $300 were reported taken from a locked business in the 500 block of North Pinecrest Road after 1 a.m. Nov. 30, according to police.

Two laptop computers, three other computers, a flash drive and an unspecified amount of cash was reported taken from a business in the 100 block of Royce road some time after 5 p.m. Nov. 26, police said.

More than $15,000 in items taken from homes

Bolingbrook police said five thefts from residences between Nov. 29 and Dec. 4 resulted in loss of property valued at more than $15,000.

A gold and diamond wedding set valued at more than $1,100 was reported taken from a home in the 700 block of Dunham Lane after Nov. 23, police said.

Numerous traffic cones valued at $30 were reported removed after 4 p.m. Dec. 3 on Pheasant Chase Court.

A video game system valued at more than $500 was taken from a residence in the 100 block of Oxford Road after 1 a.m. Dec. 3, according to police.

Two fur coats, men’s and women’s watches, gold rings, bracelets and other personal items valued at more than $10,000 were taken from a residence in the 1400 block of Lily Cache Lane some time after 7:30 a.m. Nov. 30.

Three laptop computers, four DVD players, two DVD recorders, a camcorder, four video game systems, two hand-held video games, a home sound system, three iPods, a keyboard and miscellaneous personal items — all valued at more than $4,000 — were reported taken from a home in the 800 block of Grove Lane after 7 p.m. Nov. 29.

DUI alleged

Ashley Cotton, 23, of Oswego was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:15 a.m. Dec. 8 at Oak Hill Drive and Yackley Avenue, police said.

Purse taken from car

A  purse was taken from a vehicle between 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 11 a.m. Dec. 6 while parked in an apartment complex parking lot in the 4700 block of St. Joseph Creek Road. The rear passenger side window had been broken, police said.

Drug possession charged

Thomas Zettle, 18, of the 4500 block of Waubansie Lane, was charged with possession of marijuana at about 9:45 p.m. Dec. 2 at East Lake Drive and Maple Avenue, police said.
