DUI charges filed by police

Police charged two motorists with driving while under the influence of alcohol in separate incidents recently.

Edson Miranda-Saucedo, 26, of Northlake, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, failure to signal and driving without a valid driver’s license following a traffic stop at about 1:45 a.m. Jan. 1 in the 200 block of North Bolingbrook Drive, according to police.

Willie Walker, 48, 234 Butternut Drive, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and driving without insurance following a traffic stop at about 9:45 p.m. Dec. 27 near Boughton Road and Ashbury Avenue, police said.

Police investigate rash of stolen vehicles

Police continue to investigate reports of four vehicles stolen within a five-day period recently.

A blue 2003 Volvo was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 200 block of West South Frontage Road after 1 p.m. Dec. 31, police said.

A white 2005 Vanguard trailer was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 1000 block of Dalton Lane between Dec. 27 and Dec. 28, according to police reports.

A burgundy 2000 tractor was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 100 block of Joliet Road between Dec. 27 and Dec. 28, police said.

A white four-door Chevrolet Corsica was reported stolen from the 200 block of South Bolingbrook Drive after 10 a.m. Dec. 27, according to police.

Two motorists drive off without paying for gas

According to police, two motorists drove off without paying for gasoline at area gas stations recently, and in one case identified a scofflaw who eventually repaid the gas station for the gas pumped.

Police said an employee at Meijer, 195 N. Weber Road, contacted police at about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 31 after a motorist pumped 10 gallons of gas and then drove off without paying. The attendant was able to record the driver’s license plate number, and within the next few days police contacted the unidentified motorist, who then paid $33.29 for the gasoline, police said. No charges were filed.

In a separate incident, police said a motorist drove off without paying for $15 worth of gasoline from the Speedway, 332 S. Bolingbrook Drive, at about 3:30 p.m. Dec. 30.

Disorderly conduct charges filed

Jacqueline Nowicki, 21, 583 N. Pinecrest Road, and Jaclyn Kozij, 21, of Lemont, were charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to a report of a fight at about 2:15 a.m. Jan. 1 in the 100 block of Maplewood Drive.

Vandals break window: police

According to police the front window of a residence in the 200 block of Canyon Drive was broken when someone threw a rock through it at 10:45 p.m. Jan. 1. The cost to replace the window was estimated at $300.

Woodridge man charged with retail theft

David Washington, 35, of Woodridge, was charged with retail theft after police responded to a report of a shoplifter at 4 p.m. Dec. 28 at Speedway, 499 W. Boughton Road.
