For 10 years, Bolingbrook police Sgt. Mike Johnstone has been racing and displaying race cars to get the message out to teenagers about driving safety.

A Woodridge man arrested in November after crashing a plane near Downers Grove was under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the crash, according to a grand jury indictment released Wednesday.

Former Bolingbrook resident Vicente Garcia, a reputed high ranking leader of the Latin Kings street gang, wanted since September on charges of federal drug and firearm offenses, has been arrested in Mexico and is now awaiting extradition from Houston, the FBI said.

John A. Pighee Jr., 610 Preston Drive, Bolingbrook, has been charged with felony disorderly conduct for disrupting service at a Bolingbrook bank this morning by calling police shortly before noon to report a bank robbery in progress and providing a description of the alleged robber — himself.
