The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of former Bolingbrook resident Vincente Garcia, who is reputed to be a high-ranking leader in the Latin Kings street gang in the Chicago area and has been the subject of a manhunt since September, authorities said.
The Chicago office of the FBI issued a release last week announcing the reward for Garcia, 30, whose last known address is 556 Emerson Circle, Bolingbrook.
In the release Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the FBI, confirmed that authorities have been seeking Garcia since September, when Garcia was charged in U.S. District Court in Chicago with violating federal drug and firearm laws.
The criminal complaint filed in Chicago two months ago charges Garcia with overseeing the distribution of cocaine in Chicago and the suburbs.
Garcia was among 40 gang members and associates charged as the result of an investigation code named “Operation Pesadilla,” which targeted the leadership of the street gang, Grant said. Garcia is one of five defendants still at large.
Garcia is described as a Hispanic male, 30 years of age, 5-feet,11-inches, heavy build, weighing about 225 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and slight facial hair. Garcia has a tattoo of a crown on his chest and the letters “LK” tattooed on the back of his shoulder.
The FBI said Garcia also goes by the names “DK,” “Coon” and “Possum.”
Anyone with information on Garcia is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700.
