Garage burglarized, generator taken
More than $1,000 worth of tools were stolen from a garage between 6 p.m. Sept. 26 and 6:15 a.m. Sept. 27 on the 3200 block of Oak Avenue, according to reports.

Police said the victim was last in his garage Sept. 26 and when he returned the next morning, he found the service door open. Officers also observed the wooden door and frame had been pried open, according to reports.

The items missing are a power washer, a generator, a generator engine, the generator frame, a compressor and a green leaf blower, according to reports.

Three teens arrested, face burglary charges
Three teen boys from Maywood were charged with burglary after they were arrested for taking two bicycles out of a garage at about 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21, police said.

A witness told police the boys had entered a garage on the 1100 block of Manchester Avenue and rode off on two bikes they had taken from the garage. The first teen was arrested near the corner of 25th Avenue and Lexington Street after a brief foot chase, police said. The other two teens were arrested three blocks east at 22nd Avenue.

Police recovered the bicycles, and all three teens, ages 13, 14 and 15, were later released to their parents after being petitioned to juvenile court.

Candy bars stolen from gas station
A teen stole 15 candy bars from a gas station at about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 18 on the 800 block of Mannheim Road, police said.

An employee of the gas station told police that the teen came into the store, grabbed the candy bars and walked out without paying, according to a police.
The teen was last seen riding a bike north on Mannheim Road.
