
Riverside’s first farmers market will be held Wednesday, July 15, and vendors are emphasizing local goods.
Riverside’s own Vacha Florist, 23 E. Burlington Road, will sell locally grown flowers. Randy Brockway, a Riverside resident, will be selling vegetables. Resident Tom Cervenka will have organic fertilizer for sale.
The market will take place from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 17 E. Burlington Road, in the parking lot next to Riverside Bank. The market will be held every Wednesday evening until Nov. 11.
Other area shops will also be at the market. Fruit and vegetables from M&D Farms in Homer Glen will be for sale, as well as organic bread from Bread from the Heart in Western Springs, honey from Pronger Apiaries in Blue Island and croissants, baguettes and bread from Fraternite Notre Dame in Chicago.
Fresh salsa and pasta sauce will be sold from Tomato Mountain Farms, based in Brooklyn, Wisc.
