Riverside’s Olmsted Society is hosting their next work day from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 14 at Riverside and Lionel roads.
Work days are a joint effort between the Riverside Public Works Department and the Olmsted Society in an effort to beautify Riverside.
Volunteers will remove buckthorn between the sidewalk and the Des Plaines River along Riverside Road and on the path to Miller Woods.
Supervised children are welcome and service hour credits are available. Bring work gloves and a water bottle. All other supplies will be provided. Because volunteers will be working in the woods, the Olmsted Society asks that everyone wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.
The Nov. 14 date is the last scheduled work day of 2009.
